CANPACK GROUP AMONG COMPANIES SUPPORTING 2ND EDITION OF “BUSINESS VS SMOG” PROGRAM

November 13, 2019

Krakow, Poland (November 13, 2019) – For the second time, the CANPACK Group will join the “Business vs Smog” initiative which implements an employee volunteer program to educate children and young people about smog and air quality.

The “Business vs Smog” program was created on the initiative of the consulting firm PwC in 2018 and is being implemented in cooperation with 26 companies under the auspice of the Krakow Smog Alarm and the SPIRE Association, with the honorary patronage of the Marshal of the Małopolskie province.

In response to one of the most important challenges – bad air quality in Poland – the companies participating in the program have jointly declared their full commitment to raising environmental awareness of Poles.

“A commitment to initiatives which aim to reduce environmental impact and raise environmental awareness is a priority for the CANPACK Group under our strategy for sustainable development. We strongly believe that participation in clean air initiatives and joint action uniting the efforts of many companies can lead to real, positive changes,” highlights Małgorzata Podrecka of the CANPACK Group. “We are glad to see that 15 of our employees have decided to volunteer for this year’s edition, offering to conduct workshops for children from Bydgoszcz, Brzesko, Orzesze and Krakow” – adds Małgorzata Podrecka.

The first edition of the program saw 128 volunteers from 11 companies which joined the project. The volunteers conducted environmental workshops for nearly 10,000 children and young people about clean air and prevention of smog. CANPACK was represented by 19 volunteers who during 81 workshops trained nearly 4,000 children in 12 cities and towns of Małopolska.
